West River Village

West River Village (“WRV”) is a future 210-acre master-planned community located at 290 River Road, Venice, FL, in Sarasota County, FL.
The entitlements for WRV support over 1,500 rental homes, 2 million square feet of retail, office, and other commercial spaces, as well as flexible zoning for additional ancillary uses such as hotels and medical office facilities.
Through a comprehensive reimagination effort, GCI has conceptualized a vibrant mixed-use community, centered around a 16-acre pond that will serve as the heart of the development. Initial concepts include a neighborhood shopping center along River Road, surrounded by more than 500 luxury apartments, all anchored by a dynamic mixed-use activity center adjacent to the landscaped water features. This hub will open up to the pond and feature water activities, walking paths, and scenic vistas, connecting the multi-phased community.
GCI is excited to leverage this prime location positioned adjacent to Wellen Park, an 11,000-acre master-planned community. When fully developed, Wellen Park will house over 50,000 residents and include a diverse mix of amenities, including the Spring Training home of the Atlanta Braves. The West River Village community will be just a short drive or walk away from this exciting destination.
